ClearView is built on a simple principle: your financial data belongs to you. Here's exactly what we store and how you can access, export, or delete it at any time.

What We Store

ID

Account Identity

Your email address. If you used Google sign-in, your Google account ID. No password is stored by us — authentication is handled by Supabase Auth.

INV

Investment Holdings & Transactions

Positions (security name, ticker, quantity, value, cost basis), investment transactions (trade date, type, symbol, amount), and account metadata (name, type, institution). Synced from your brokerage via Plaid.

BNK

Bank & Credit Card Transactions

Transaction date, merchant name, amount, and Plaid's spending category. Used for cash flow analysis. Your bank login credentials are never stored — Plaid handles authentication.

LBL

Liabilities

Credit card APRs, payment due dates, and minimum payments. Mortgage rate, term, outstanding balance, and property address if provided by your institution via Plaid.

RPT

Your Analyses

Analysis names, date ranges, and account selections you create for investment reports and cash flow analyses. Calculated results are generated on demand and not stored.

KEY

Encrypted Plaid Tokens

A Plaid access token (not your bank password) that allows us to re-sync your accounts. Stored using AES-256-CBC encryption. Revoked and deleted when you disconnect an institution or delete your account.

What We Don't Store

  • Your bank username or password — ever
  • Social Security Number or Tax ID
  • Full credit card numbers or CVVs
  • Documents, PDFs, or screenshots of statements
  • Your location or device data
  • Behavioral tracking data or advertising profiles

How to Delete Your Data

Delete a specific analysis

Go to Manage My Data and select “Delete Analysis.” This removes the analysis record but keeps your underlying account and holdings data intact.

Disconnect a financial institution

Go to Connect Accounts and disconnect the institution. This revokes the Plaid access token immediately. Previously synced data remains until you delete the account below.

Delete a connected account and its data

Go to Manage My Data and select “Delete Account.” This permanently removes the account and all associated holdings and transactions.

Delete your entire account

Go to Manage My Data and use the “Delete Profile” option. Type DELETE to confirm. This permanently removes your account, all financial data, all analyses, and signs you out. This cannot be undone.
