AI Disclosure
How “Ask ClearView” uses your data · Last updated: May 16, 2026 · Fiducia AI Labs LLC
In short
Ask ClearView is an optional AI assistant. When you use it, a de-identified snapshot of the relevant financial data — with names and account numbers removed — is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate an answer. It is not used to train AI models, and you can choose not to use the feature at all.
1. What Ask ClearView is
Ask ClearView is an optional AI assistant built into the ClearView app. It answers plain-English questions about a portfolio — holdings, allocation, performance, cash flow, taxes, and retirement or Roth planning — grounded in the connected account data rather than generic advice. Using it is entirely optional; ClearView's portfolio tracking and planning tools work the same whether or not you use the assistant.
2. What data is sent — and what is not
Each time you ask a question, ClearView assembles a de-identified snapshot of the relevant financial data and sends it to a third-party AI provider to generate the answer. Before it leaves ClearView, the snapshot has identifying details removed.
Removed before sending
- Name
- Account numbers / last-4 digits
- Account nicknames & official account names
- Property addresses and asset labels
Included in the snapshot
- Holdings, balances, and values
- Account types and institutions
- Transactions, spending categories, and merchants
- Planning inputs (risk profile, retirement, Roth, etc.)
The data sent is financial data without direct identifiers. It is not fully anonymous — a determined party with outside knowledge could still associate a portfolio with a person — which is why we ask for your consent before the feature is used.
3. Who processes the data
ClearView uses third-party AI providers to run the assistant. We may add or change providers over time; this page is kept current. As of the date above, the AI provider(s) in use are:
- Anthropic, PBC — the Claude model family, accessed via Anthropic's API.
Data sent to an AI provider through its API is not used to train AI models. Providers may retain API inputs for a limited period for abuse monitoring under their own terms. ClearView is pursuing a zero-retention arrangement with its AI provider(s) ahead of general availability.
4. Your consent & choices
- Individual investors — you are asked to review and accept this disclosure the first time you use Ask ClearView. The assistant is not used until you do.
- Managed clients (whose accounts are linked by a financial advisor or a family-account organizer) — you choose, on the account-connection screen, whether to allow AI analysis. It is an optional checkbox; declining it still connects your accounts for portfolio tracking and simply leaves the AI assistant disabled for your data.
- You can decline AI processing entirely and continue to use ClearView's tracking and planning tools without it.
